Together for Haiti: Working Toward A Better Future
We believe that Haiti’s future can be better than today. However, it will take hard work and significant investment. It will require all of us doing our part. We have several ongoing projects as well as projects that are currently in the planning stages. All of these projects will help us Work Together Towards a Better Future for Haiti.

Together for Education
We believe that quality education is one of the most powerful resources a person can have. For generations, education in Haiti has suffered the issues of underfunding and neglect. Even in this modern era of education and technology, Haiti lags behind other developing countries.
Throughout Haiti, education is not affordable, it is not a priority, and it is not quality. But things do not have to be this way. With the support of our partners, we are making a difference in 4 communities. In these communities, we provide a quality, affordable education and are working to make it a priority for all families.
There is still work to be done. We want to create as many opportunities as we can in each one of these communities. Support for our Educational Development initiative will help us to continue to provide a quality, affordable education while working to improve and grow for the future.
Here’s how you can support:
- $25 will educate and provide a free, hot lunch for 1 child for 1 month
- $50 will provide annual training for 1 teacher
- $30 will provide classroom notebooks for 1 school
- $100 will provide 1 set of children’s books for 1 school
Together for Orphans
For over 30 years the Spirit of Truth Children’s Homes have provided loving care, food, clothing, shelter, and education to orphans and vulnerable children in Haiti. Through the support of our partners, these children have been given a better future and new opportunities. The Spirit of Truth Children’s Homes are:
- Spirit of Truth Boy’s Home in Guibert: Caring for orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable boys in partnership with Hope for the Hungry
- Spirit of Truth Girl’s Home in Ferrier: Caring for orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable girls in partnership with Hope for the Hungry
- Spirit of Truth Ferrier Village: Caring for children rescued from human-trafficking in partnership with Help One Now
Currently, The Spirit of Truth Children’s Homes care for over 90 children. These children are being loved, cared for, and educated. You can be a part of providing a better future and new opportunities for these children.
Support for the Together for Orphans initiative will help us continue to provide the best care and education for the children intrusted to our care. Here’s how you can support:
- $40 per month provides for building improvements and new furnishings
- $40 per month builds a fund which will add a solar powered electrical system to the Children’s Homes
- $100 per month supports the care, feeding, and education of 1 child living in the Children’s Homes.
Together for Communities
We work to provide the training, tools, and resources necessary to restore dignity and opportunity in order to help the Haitian people thrive. This means investing in life-giving and life-sustaining projects in the communities we serve.
Haiti is still an agriculture based society and the majority of families and communities survive on what they grow. We invest in community projects that support and provide sustainable agriculture, job creation, balanced nutrition, and clean water.
Support for our Economic Development and Physical Development initiatives will help us to continue to invest in community based projects that bring income, opportunity, and long-term sustainability to families and communities.
Here is how you can support:
- $7500 provides a deep water well, the source of clean water for a community
- $1000 provides a fuel-powered, portable water pump to create water irrigation to a farmer’s crops. 1 portable water pump can support 50 families. Donate Now button (link to PureCharity “ Economic Development” Category)
- $500 provides a green house for a family in areas with low annual rainfall Donate Now button (link to PureCharity “Economic Development” Category)
Together for The Church
Empowered Pastors = Equipped Churches = Bold Faith = Changed Communities
We believe that the best way to impact a community is to invest in local leaders. We believe that local pastors are the best leaders to invest in, who will in turn directly invest in their churches and their communities. Through church planting efforts and annual training conferences, Together for Haiti is directly connected to a network of 10 local churches in Haiti and partners with a larger network of over 50 churches spread throughout the country.
By providing training and resources, our objective is to help empower these pastors and other church leaders to be agents of positive spiritual and social change in their communities.
Support for our Spiritual Development initiative will help us to continue to provide training and resources for pastors and leaders while seeking opportunities to invest in new churches and additional communities.
Here’s how you can support:
- $25 provides study materials and continuing education resources for 1 pastor
- $25 provides a 4-day training conference for 1 pastor
- $400 a month provides staffing, resources and support for 1 local church
School Feeding Program
Food is a scarce and precious resource in Haiti. One of the challenges to education is that most of the children in Haiti do not have the resources to both attend school and bring a lunch. As a result, students struggle to learn during the day simply because they are hungry. While we are working toward the day that this is no longer an issue, we still need to deal with the challenges of today.
Over the last several years, all four of the Spirit of Truth Schools have initiated a free lunch program. This has allowed the administration at each school to extend the school day by two hours. As a result, learning has increased as have national test scores at all four schools.
This has been made possible through the financial support of several of our partners. This has also been possible through the donation of packaged meals from Kids Against Hunger of Central Texas.
The success of the students along with the security of a free meal each school day has dramatically increased enrollment at all four schools. We need additional investment in our feeding program and in our ability to ship the packaged meals from Kids Against Hunger of Central Texas.
Support for our Physical Development initiative will help us to continue provide free, nutritional meals for all four schools and create the financial foundation to supplement the feeding program with packaged meals from Kids Against Hunger of Central Texas.
Here is how you can support:
- $100 provides meals for 1 child for an entire school year
- $12 will ship 1 case (216 meals) of packaged meals to Haiti. 900 cases covers 1 school year for all four schools.
The Library Project
A key component to a quality education is the ability and opportunity to read. Reading opens our minds to new words, new concepts, new ideas, and new possibilities. A library is a center for learning, understanding, and growth. Libraries are absent throughout most of Haiti. Most adults in Haiti never read another book once their formal education is complete. Most children in Haiti have little access to reading material and books. The majority of schools do not have libraries or books for student use.
This project will fund three small libraries which would be located at 3 childrens’ homes in Haiti. These funds will provide the space, shelving, and books needed to give over 90 children access to educational enhancement, proactive learning opportunities, and stories to ignite their dreams.
Bibles for Haiti: An essential Resource
A copy of the Bible is an essential resource for any Christ-follower. The Bible is especially essential for new believers in the discipleship process, learning what it means to be a Christian. In Haiti, most people live on less than $2.00 per day. A copy of the Bible in Haitian Creole costs $5.00, putting this essential resource out of reach for many Haitian believers.
Our primary church partner in Haiti, Eglise Agape (Agape Church), is reaching many people in their community, baptizing new believers, and teaching them what it means to follow Jesus. This project will provide Bibles in Haitian Creole, for Eglise Agape (Agape Church) to distribute to new believers that take part in their discipleship programs.
